Micromax's YU Cyanogen Smartphone Price in India, Release date, Specifications and Rumours

To became the best selling smartphone maker in India,Micromax unveiled first ‘Yu’ brand device based on US-based Cyanogen on Tuesday, 18th Nov. 2014. Micromax Confirmed that new YU brand will launch on 18th Dec. 2014 will be available 2 to 3 weeks after the launch by Early January 2015 priced under Rs 10,000 . The pricing and specifications will be announced close to it’s release date.

During the press release, Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma said. This will be a game changer not just in India but globally too. Yu has been envisioned for building an ecosystem of connected devices and offer customised experience to users,” also added that This new Device will be affordable and innovative for the users to enhance multi-tasking.

Yu Televentures, will be a smartphone with operating system from US-based Cyanogen with customised user experience to end-users. Cyanogen operating system is built on Android platform a popular alternative OS and is installed on over 12 million devices worldwide promising innovative software which allows you yo revolutionize your performance, customisation, security and privacy.

Micromax has invited developers to develop new apps for Micromax’s new YU smartphone naming “Apps for YU’ challenge” and winner will get reward of Rs 1 lakh and top three developer will get YU brand smartphone and YU merchandise.

Micromax launching its first Cyanogen OS device under their new YU brand.” According to rumours, It will support Dual- SIM with Dual-Mode(GSM+WCDMA) offers connectivity through 4G LTE, 3G, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and GPS comes with a bigger 5.5-inch full-HD LCD display with resolution (720×1280 pixels) powered by 64-Bit Quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB internal memory and 64GB expandable memory run on US-based Cyanogen OS will combine a 13-MP Primary rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 5-MP front facing camera for video calling packed with a powerful 3100mAh Li-ion battery.
